“I hate history!” was Ken’s typical response after another bad grade in History class. His dad would come back with “History is just a bunch of stories. What are all those epic movies that you watch about?” “Oh!”
Ken’s obsession with ancient civilizations began with seeing the film “Ben-Hur” at the age of nine. But his professional career threw him into IT. His off hours were spent drawing and reading books on archeology, history, mythology, biblical scholarship, and comparative religions.
Someone said that ancient history is set in stone. No, it’s not. Every day, new details emerge that demolish our previous conceptions.
Being a huge fan of author Steve Berry, who imbues his contemporary thrillers with nuggets of little known history, Ken was inspired by him to take the discoveries and new theories and expand upon them, letting readers experience those events.
Of course having a demanding, full time job and writing was a real challenge, but now that he’s retired, the stories and events are being written down.
His food obsessions: peanut butter, chocolate milk, pizza, that Pittsburgh specialty (he’s a native) Turkey Devonshire, and Sausage and Peppers Rustica (even though it may not be on the Olive Garden menu, they’ll make it for you if you ask nicely).
Ken lives with his wife in Central Florida.
