The original ancient capital of the Han Dynasty Empire.

Fourteen years after the dynasty was deposed,

it returned and the capital was moved to Luoyang.

Augustan Altar of Peace

Also known as the Ara Pacis in Latin, the Altar is now self contained within a building.

Obtaining pictures is involved and expensive, therefore click here to see the museum.

The original statue of Arminius in the mountains outside of Detmold, Germany

Known as the Hermannsdenkal since he was renamed Hermann by, we believe, Martin Luther

Designed by Ernst van Bandel and built over a period of 37 years (1838 – 1875)

Misled people into thinking this was the location of the battle

Hermann Monument – New Ulm, Minnesota, USA

Inspired by the Hermannsdenkal in Detmold, Germany

Designed and built by Julius Berndt and Alphonso Pelzer

Unveiled in 1897
